Zia Micol's Visit

Last month, Zia Micol came to Atlanta to visit for a few days. We had a wonderful time with her, and Sophia knew exactly who she was even though it had been a year since she had seen her last, thanks to Skype. Sophia had a blast playing with her, and was so sad to see her go!

Labor Day Weekend

Last weekend was a busy one for our family. Cousin Brad and his family came to Atlanta and Sophia was so excited to see her cousins. Sophia and Julia had a lot of fun blowing bubbles and sharing a snack on the sofa. Sophia was in heaven holding her new baby cousin Evelyn. She is going to be such a big helper when her baby brother gets here.

The next day we had a BBQ at our house and some of Sophia's friends came over to eat and play. She, Olivia, and Brady had a great time and played so well together.

On Monday, Nana and Pop came over for some of Daddy's homemade pizza. It was delicious as usual, but even more so this time because Sophia helped make the pizza!

Favorite new toy

For Sophia's birthday, Grandma got Sophia a great new toy....her very own house!  We decided to put it out on the screened in porch so it's easy for her to get to, and we can use it even when it's raining.  She loves to talk on the phone, ring the doorbell, and feed her baby doll at the table.  Here are a few pictures of her first time playing in her house.

First day of school

Monday was Sophia's first day of school. This year she is in the 2 year old Panda class. She missed school and all of her friends, and was very excited to go back. She had a fun week playing with friends, doing art, going to music class, playball, and shabbat, and playing on the playground.

My big girl is ready for her first day of school!

one year makes!

Swimming with Nana and kisses for Colin

The past few weeks have been full of fun activities for Sophia. We are trying to fit in as much as possible before the baby comes. A couple of weeks ago, Nana came to our neighborhood pool to swim with us. Sophia loves her new float, and loves to jump off the wall with it on.

Ha-motzi lechem min ha-aretz

Every Friday in school Sophia does Shabbat and says prayers over their bread before eating it. Last night she was showing us how well she knows the prayer over the bread.

Making brownies

Yesterday Sophia wanted to help me make brownies! We pulled over a chair and she helped pour in all of the ingredients and mix them all up. But her favorite part was licking the brownie batter! We used pasteurized eggs, so it was safe for her to eat.

Mmmm...so good!
