Follow by email!

You can now follow Tales from the Crib by email! If you'd like to be added to the list, please send me or Jason an email. When we update the blog, you will get an email instead of having to visit the blog regularly. Hope you are enjoying catching up on our beautiful baby!

3 months!

Wow! I can't believe my baby is 3 months old! This past month has been a big one for Sophia. She started smiling and cooing, and has just become a lot more alert overall. She's had a few laughs out loud, but typically laughs without making any noise. She is technically "sleeping through the night" (sleeps 6 or 7 hrs straight) even though she really wakes up to eat around 4 am. Sophia has really started to fill out, and we love her chubby little legs. She eats very well, and is climbing her way up the growth chart! She loves all of her toys, and is enjoying her new bumbo because she can sit up and look all around by herself! She just recently discovered her feet, and likes watching them as they move.

L'Shana Tova!

Happy New Year! Sophia celebrated her first Rosh Hashanah this weekend. We started off on Friday night with a yummy dinner at Aunt Jill and Uncle Joe's with all of the family. Sophia got to meet some of her second cousins who have promised to play with her when she gets bigger. Saturday afternoon we went to services at Temple Sinai and Sophia was so good! She slept through most of the service in mommy and daddy's arms. Towards the end, we took her into the "fussy baby" room to feed her before we took the shuttle back to our car.

In the fussy baby room, watching the rest of the service on tv

Saturday night we went to dinner with friends (which Sophia slept through too!), but once we got back to their house, she and her friend Olivia hung out in their jammies before they both went to sleep.

Just some cute pictures

A couple pictures i thought were particularly cute in the last few days:

"What is this strange contraption you've put me in?"

"Oh, i see, I kind of like this!"

Throw up them gang signs, muh brutha!

Most kids have security blankets, my daughter has a security bib. It makes her feel that food is never far away.

Just hanging out

Sophia has been having lots of fun hanging out with Mommy and Daddy lately. She has been getting to run a bunch of errands, go out to eat, and has even hung out at Nana and Pop's house a couple of times! She loves to smile at us when we make noises and funny faces, and in the past couple of days we have even gotten a few laughs! She finally likes her bouncy seat now, so she plays in it next to the table while we are eating dinner. For the most part, Sophia is sleeping really well at night! Her long stretch of sleep has been from between 9-10 until about 4:30 or 5. Hopefully soon it will be a regular thing for her!

We had to go to the doctor yesterday, and Sophia now weighs 11lbs 5oz and is in the 35th%. She is catching up fast!

Here are a few of our favorite pictures of Sophia from the past couple of weeks.

Laughing at Daddy. He sure is silly!

Tummy time. Look how strong I am!

Meeting lots of people!

Sophia got to meet her new baby cousin Levi last week. He is about two months younger than her, and she can't wait to play with him. She got to meet lots of family and friends at his bris, and looked so pretty in her dress from Aunt Ronni. We weren't able to take a picture of them together yet, but I know there will be many opportunities for pictures soon.

Before Temple Sinai started back at school, Sophia got to meet her future teachers (and mommy's former coworkers). Everyone oohed and ahhed over her, and I know they are all hoping Sophia will be in their class!

Sophia wore her cute UGA outfit in honor of their first game. Thanks Michelle for the cute outfit!

Talking to Daddy

Just as Jason and I were wondering when Sophia would start "talking" to us, she started cooing! We've had a few little noises from her before, but this was a whole conversation. Daddy was trying to make Sophia laugh by making funny faces and noises, and all of the sudden Sophia started making noises back! I ran downstairs to film it, and here is a little clip.
