10 months!

This week Sophia turned 10 months old. She now weighs 19 lbs 9 oz. She has gotten to be a lot more active in the past month. She learned to roll to get around and will tumble across the room. At the end of the month she learned to army crawl, or as we call it, worming. You can't leave her in a room and expect her to be where you left her anymore! She also learned how to clap and wave. A fun noise that she learned this month was how to click with her tongue. Her favorite game to play is peek a boo. She will pull something up over her face and when we say "Where is Sophia?" she'll pull it down and smile! She will cover her face with anything from her shirt to the basket that we keep her toys in.

Sophia has tried so many new foods this month. She's had several more spices, pork, tomato sauce, egg yolk, turnip greens, cauliflower, yogurt, and pizza to name a few. She loves pepper, and will eat just about anything with pepper on it. Her new favorite foods are pizza and turnip greens.

Family zoo trip and play date

Last weekend was a busy one! On Saturday we took a family trip to the zoo. Sophia had fun going around the zoo and looking at the animals, although she preferred to watch the people. Daddy had fun taking lots of pictures of Sophia and of all the animals! We took a little break for lunch and Sophia had her first taste of cotton candy. Surprisingly, she didn't seem to love it. She must be Daddy's child, liking lemons and not liking sugar! Right before we left, Sophia's friend Brady and his mommy got to the zoo and we said hello.

On Sunday, Sophia went to a play date at Olivia's house. Her friends Olivia, Brady, and Zachary were all there! She loved playing with Olivia's toys, and even borrowed her high chair to have some lunch. She had so much fun playing with her friends!

Roly Poly

Sophia has become quite the roly poly these days. Instead of crawling, she rolls to get around. She has just recently started army crawling/pulling herself to go a short distance, but for the most part she rolls to get wherever she wants to go. The other day, she rolled from the family room into the dining room and was having fun under the chairs.

Box O' Toys

One of Sophia's favorite things to do is to play with her box o' toys. In our family room, we have two boxes filled with her toys. She will entertain herself for a good 15 or 20 mins if we put her in front of it. She can get into the box more easily if she is sitting up, but laying down doesn't stop her either! She will roll her way over and pull down on the edge until it tips. She then has fun taking out each and every toy, one by one.

Nice day at the zoo

A few weeks ago, Sophia and I took a trip to the zoo with some friends. It was the first really nice day in Atlanta, and the zoo was so busy! While we were there, we played on the playground, went into the petting zoo, saw a couple of the animals. It was so much fun! In the petting zoo area, Sophia got to pet goats, pigs, and sheep! Mommy thought it was pretty cool, but Sophia didn't seem all that interested. Maybe when she gets a little older! Next time we will have to go for a ride on the train!

Passover

This week, Sophia had her first Passover Seder. We went over to Aunt Jill and Uncle Joe's house with all of our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. There were 6 cousins there, 5 and under! It made for quite a crazy seder! Sophia was a little piggy during the seder and she ate and ate and ate! I'm not sure how her tummy held all of the food! She had matzah balls for the first time and loved them. We've been having them for meals all week since! Mommy and Daddy are keeping Passover, but Sophia is still eating her pasta and cheerios.

Excited for the Seder to start!

Fun at Gymboree and Music Class

Right now, Sophia is enrolled in a Gymboree class and a music class. Last week, she had visitors come to both of them! Nana came to Gymboree with us and had lots of fun playing with Sophia. The theme last week was balance and all of the activities involved balancing in some
way.

Aunt Jennifer came to music with us because she was on Spring Break. Sophia had lots of fun singing and dancing with her. Sophia loves to sing, and especially loves to shake her instruments.

Pasta al Pomodoro!

Sophia loves her pasta, and why wouldn't she; she's Italian! The other night we gave it to her with some tomato sauce. Here is the outcome.
